Select Fresh Shrimp

I personally Look for wild-caught shrimp for better flavor. Farmed shrimp can also be used, but wild-caught often has a more robust taste. There is no harm in buying Shrimp from the store as well.

Preparing the Shrimp

Remove the shell from the shrimp, leaving the tail if desired to keep the presentation of the dish nice. Using a small paring knife, make a shallow cut along the back of each shrimp to expose the vein then throw it.

Rinse the peeled and deveined shrimp under cold water and pat them dry with paper towels.

Now the most important step remains. After cleaning the shrimp, make sure the shrimp is evenly coated with jerk seasoning spice to add the flavor, and let them chill in the fridge overnight or for a few hours so that the spice absorbs well.

Make Your Own Homemade Jerk Seasoning

You must use the following ingredients in my Homemade Jerk Dry Seasoning recipe to produce your jerk seasoning dry rub. You can also buy jerk seasoning from the store to make the recipe instantly.

One tablespoon of powdered onion
One spoonful of powdered garlic
Two tsp of cayenne
Two teaspoons of black pepper
Two teaspoons of dried thyme
A tsp of brown sugar, organic
One teaspoon of ground clover
One tsp of dehydrated parsley
One tsp of smoky paprika
½ teaspoon crushed red pepper
One-half teaspoon of ground cinnamon
1/4 tsp finely ground nutmeg
1/2 tsp ground cloves, 1/2 tsp powdered cumin

Allspice, parsley, smoked paprika, red pepper flakes, cinnamon, nutmeg, cloves, cumin, onion powder, garlic powder, cayenne pepper, black pepper, thyme, brown sugar, and allspice should be put in a bowl.

The spice mix should be kept at room temperature in a firmly sealed mason jar or seasoning jar.

Select The Right Pasta for shrimp rasta pasta

I personally choose penne pasta because it is easy to chewy and it mixes well with the ingredients of the sauce. However, any of these pasta types would be suitable for this recipe.

Here are all the types of pasta. Penne Shells, Spaghetti Spirals, Tagliatelle, Perciatelli, Fettucini, Paccheri, and Orecchiette.

Recipe ingredients 

1 lb large shrimp, peeled and deveined
1 tbsp jerk seasoning
1 red bell pepper, thinly sliced
1 green bell pepper, thinly sliced
1 yellow bell pepper, thinly sliced
1 small red onion, thinly sliced
3 cloves garlic, minced
2 cups heavy cream
1 cup grated Parmesan cheese
1/2 cup chicken broth
1 tbsp tomato paste
1 lb penne pasta
Fresh parsley, chopped (for garnish)
Salt and pepper to taste

Cooking Method 

Step 1: Remove the coated shrimp from the refrigerator and keep them at room temperature. To make it on the spot, you can coat the jerk seasoning spice with the shrimp and keep it for 15 minutes, it will give good flavor as well.

Step 2: Bring salted water to bail in a large pan and add the pasta then set the pasta aside, and mix in about a tablespoon of oil to prevent the pasta from sticking together. As an alternative, rinse the pasta in cold water to remove starch. 

Step 3: Heat the olive oil in a big pan over medium-high heat. Add the marinated shrimp and cook for 2-3 minutes on each side, until pink and opaque. After taking the shrimp out of the pan, set it aside.

Step 4: lighten your hand with a smile, it is time to cook the vegetable. In the same pan, add the chopped pepper and red onion and fry for 3 to 4 minutes until the vegetables are soft and slightly charred. Keep stirring and keep an eye so that don’t burn it.

Step 5: Prepare the Sauce: To prepare the sauce, reduce the heat to medium and then add the chicken broth, and heavy cream and mix it properly.

Add the grated parmesan cheese and boil into the mixture, once the the sauce is smooth and the cheese has melted. Now the smell of the recipe will have reached your neighborhood.

Step 6: Add the sautéed shrimp and cooked pasta to the pan before serving. Mix everything together until the creamy sauce coats the pasta and shrimp well. Simmer the meal for a few minutes to make sure everything is well heated.
